I've met two cantonese speaking mothers abroad (in Sweden and in Australia). Neither taught teaching their children Cantonese had any value. Actually, one sort of tried, but her kids refused to speak it once they understood she could understand Mandarin, so she gave up. The other didn't even consider that it would be a good thing, because of the toxic "dialect" idea. If Cantonese is just a dialect, no culture is lost if the children grow up speaking Mandarin, since it's the same language. And Mandarin emigration is diluting the Cantonese speakers abroad. Cantonese will likely die out in overseas communities before it does so in HK. I expect Macau will also be mandarinified before HK is.
