I'm not sure what the Glossika method is like, but the original "10,000 sentences" method originated at the blog "All Japanese All the Time" (AJATT). Google that and I'm sure you can find a lot of information. The basic idea is to find sentences in your reading and listening material and add them to an SRS software such as Anki. You learn to read and understand the sentences and your grasp of the language grows. The method is very passive; you're not supposed to try to produce language yourself but just mimic natives. After 10,000 sentences memorized, you're supposedly "fluent". It looks to me that Glossika has the 10,000 sentences prepared, but the original method calls for "sentence mining", which means you need to find them yourself.

Personally, I like passive methods. I don't like speaking until I have a fairly good listening comprehension. So that part of the method I like. I haven't had much luck with sentences, though. I find I usually manage to guess the words because I remember the context I found the sentence in, and because I know most of the words in the sentence so I can guess the difficult ones. But then when I encounter the word in a different sentence I fail to recognize it. So I prefer memorizing single words, combined with massive amounts of input to drill the patterns and collocations.

But, as I said, the 10ks method is pretty popular amongst respected polyglots, and I would by no means call it bad. It just doesn't suit me, but it's an excellent method for others.
