about Cheung Chau

I have two quetsion about Cheung Chau Island:

1. Is it realy dangerous to live here?
(Someone told me about "Death Island",or this is bad joke/rumor... Do you know?...)

2. Is it true, that here the most cheapest rent near the sea?

I'm going to HK in September...
