I've noticed that in some characters the Middle Chinese pronunciation has a kh- initial but in Cantonese it has an h-. This type of shift is also found in Western languages, but apparently systematic.
I have been trying to, without luck so far, find a pattern as to when MC kh- becomes Cantonese h-. Have you got any idea?
