Hi,

I saw TVB drama and the actor said 縮手!

Is this the correct chinese characters for "let go of your hand" in cantonese ?

Thanks

「縮手」 literly mean " retract hand" as a command, it mean: " retract your hand!" it is different from 「放手」( release hand = let go )
you tell People to「縮手」 ( retract your hand) when they 「伸手」( reach out with their hands) so, 「縮手」 is better translated to " Back off!"

Usage :
When someone get hold of your hand, you tell him to 放手 ( release)
When someone touch you on the shoulder, you tell him to 縮手 ( retract)
