Correct me if I'm mistaken, but isn't Cantonese the least endangered of all the Chinese languages aside from Mandarin? It has a stronghold not only in Hong Kong, but in Macau as well. Minnan is also somewhat endangered, but even that has a bastion in Taiwan. I'd be more concerned about the Chinese languages that do not enjoy the kind of autonomous environments in which Cantonese and "Taiwanese" continue to persevere.
