Thanks for your feedback.

Yaumingfai - I'm sorry I cant read Chinese and google translate gave me something that was clearly wrong!

Mr K - Yes I dont really know too much slang. I'm aware of things like 'Gong2 lui2' and a few others but not a lot. As for the tones yes they will always be a bit of a work in progress. Tones 4 and 6 i almost treat as identical as a low falling and low flat are to me quite similar. Tone 3 flat middle should be easy cause its sort of like your normal english speaking voice, though im not sure if i find the right tone. I find tone 1 possibly the easiest but like i did in the video i sometimes get lazy and miss it, and need to correct myself. But it was the first tone i got comfortable with out of the 6.

b music - That was my daughter who appeared must of the time!

freshkeak - Definitely imo recording yourself and watching it back helps. It also will help show your improvement if you stay with it and watch it back in 12 or 24 months time. I dont understand Mandarin but Cantonese always appealed to me more. Living in HK it made sense to pursue it more than Mando.

Conycatcher - I find most people are pretty positive. Because a westerner speaking Chinese is not too frequently seen most people are supportive and encouraging. I hope to increase my vocabulary. I have started to watch a bit more TVB too. Need to talk more and more which can only help. Thanks for your advice.

Thanks everyone for your feedback.
