I`m not going to learn new vocabulary cantonese words or expressions from a dubbed drama.
Anything dubbed is FLAT.
It angers me that TVB doesn`t appreciate its own production to fit someone else`s production. And they knew it would cause an upheaval response so they did not mediatised it. It was pathetic that they even had to show a 2 min preamble on TV by 3 casts from the the previous 90s TVB journey to the west saying how good it;s going to be. the funniest thing is that this drama existed a while ago it is not new so basically ppl can Watch the whole thing online!!!!! Why fool the HK audience?
If we don;t do anything TVB drama will be reduced to dubbed dramas just like HK movies, half of the cast dubbed not based in HK, poor plots, abide to censorships to please Mainland china. TVB CAN do that actually to make more profit. But the end result will be poor quality dramas, different culture just like most HK movies. HK-China coproduction movies are money driven, get the most profit during box-office from the billions of people living in China. HK movies now are completely unfamilliar to me now and I Watch more Hollywood movies now.
TVB all these years have made decent dramas and discovered talented people. The cantonese dialogues are fascianting to me, expressive, funny, reinforced my identity. TVB is a self and independent television company producing dramas they don;t need external invasion. If I want HK dramas TVB is an important source and the only source for now. If I want mandarin production I have over 15 channels to access it at home with subtitles. I don;t need tvb to provide me.
