I don't expect to be literate in 5 months (that would be amazingly awesome though). I just want to take the opportunity of school downtime to learn.

Primarily I think i will be self taught as I dont know anything/anyone who can help me. My parents aren't gonna be very good teachers.

Are there any specific books that are recommended to help with the learning process?
