Re: Chinese characters frequency list (Cantonese version)

I wanted to update this thread with some new information, since it comes up prominently in searches.

So far, I found published data based on 1950's and 60's movies and TV shows (see 2 attached files). [corpus.ied.edu.hk]

To access the lists above, you just need to create a username (email) and password, and click the confirmation link they send you. Then, you'll find both lists prominently linked, after you log in, but just in case:
word list
character list

There are more recent corpus from the late 1990's and early 2000's (based on callers to talk radio shows), specifically HKCAC and HKUCC corpuses, but I'm still waiting for responses to my inquiries, since they are not published on the internet, though academic papers about them are easy to find. I'll reply to this thread if I received data or a link to one or both of them.

In a separate message in this thread, I'll try pasting all the words, and see if that much text is allowed. The reason for that, is that these corpus URLs seem to go dead after several years.
