[1]千般相思 似毛毛雨， 抑鬱苦惱 一於作首詩，
Constantly lovesick like drizzle rain; depress and troubled, let's make a poem,

[2]寫遍艷麗言詞 合妳意，藉以表心痴。
to write all the beautiful words, and using it to express my devoted love.

[3]執起張紙 卻恨無語， 心聲傾訴 實在唔容易，
Pick up a piece of paper, but regretfully I have no word,  expressing feelings in my heart really isn't easy.

[4]依稀往事 言猶在我耳，望妳解深意。
Vague memories, as if the voices (from the past) is still in my ears, hope you understand the deep meaning in it.


[5]胡言亂語 更多錯字，總之兩心知，
( even)Talking nonsense and with many misspelled words; we'd just understand each other thoughts.


[6]全無異志 吐出心事，祗盼望 知曉意思。
With no other thoughts, I spill my guts, just hope  ( you) know what it mean.

[7]深宵追憶 會亂神智， 怎許相對 有若籐纏樹，
Late night thinking of the past would drive me crazy, "how can we be together like vine tangle with tree?"


[8]衷心暗示 祈求諒錯處， 夜半輕私語。
Sincerely hinting, hope you'd forgive my mistakes; (our) private whisper in middle of night.

**the song title 「夜半輕私語」seeming was inspired by one verse   --「夜半無人私語時」In 《長恨歌》which is a very popular and well known classical long formed poem
