With the availability of more source materials on Cantonese characters, it is founded that most sources (including 廣州話正音字典, 廣州話方言詞典, Cantonese Association, etc) now use 㨴 (instead of 掀) for the verb ‘kin2’ which means “to lift up (a lid)”. 掀 has probably lost its colloquial reading ‘kin2’ by now.
I’ll add a new character 㨴 to CantoDict and delete the ‘kin2’ reading and meaning from 掀.
