I came across this character in my book today. Here's the sentence: "我隨便趿了對拖鞋, 走出村外". Some searching gives me that the Canto reading is "saap3" and the Mando is "ta1". It seems to be primarily used in the Mandarin word 趿拉 "ta1la5", meaning to wear shoes with the back end trampled down, like a slipper. In the book that doesn't quite make sense, as it's already a slipper. Searching for it online, I get some old dictionary entries where it's defined as "進足", which I'm guessing means "slip the foot into", which makes more sense in the sentence above.
Can someone add this character to CantoDict?
Also, I can't help wondering if this is the original character for "sip3". Both the reading and the meaning seem to match pretty well, and the character is pretty old. Comments?
