Personally, I am for re-educate the general public by using the correct character if this character has no official modern substitute for it,

However, there's no chance of do away popular 白字 like 「那西」，「嘆世界」as long as the general public know what those terms with 白字 actually mean. And people who take language seriously know the difference, 'correct but archaic characters' and 'incorrect but accepted characters' will co-exist either we want it or not.
in the case of 'faak3 蛋' I am not going to try correcting people from use "發" ; also, I am not going to tell people "馬+圭+石" (I can't input it) is too difficult and should not be used despite the fact that it is actually the original character.
