I use 倉頡 chongkit, or to be more precise the one available here: http://www.chinesecj.com/forum/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=2596&extra=page%3D1
It lets you choose between versions 2,3 5 and others (there's 10 in total), it's really good. They've updated the character codes slightly in older versions, which can be a bit annoying-but version 3 is pretty much the same as what most people are used to.
I never use the microsoft one-it's awful, the wildcard search almost never works, and if you key in a code that's even slightly wrong, it just gives you nothing, whereas the 倉頡之友 one shows a dropdown menu as you type, so for examplke, if you want to type 我, when you type 竹, the dropdown will show you all the characters which start with 竹, when you type 竹手,the list will update automatically and so on.
The wild card is very flexible too, and you can almost always find the character you're looking for. Punctuation is also very easy with this input method: you type zx and a dropdown list appears, from which you can select the chinese punction you need, or even better, zxa, zxb, zxc. Otherwise, memorizing the codes for chinese punctuation like 「」《》((which you have to do with the microsoft one) is difficult.
For my phone, I use andriod and a chongkit one called RC input, it's the best one I've tried for android, I've been using this IME 3 years now, so that says something about it.
