You want to dissuade learners from using these materials?
I am actively dissuading students of Cantonese from adopting Yale as their customary Romanisation scheme. If they desire to make use of the many resources that employ Yale, they need only take the five minutes to convert from Jyutping or HKIEd. My goal isn't to pretend that Yale doesn't exist, but rather to expedite its obsolescence by encouraging the primary use of more modern, accurate systems, namely Jyutping and HKIEd (which are so similar that there's no reasonable excuse to not learn one if you're literate in the other).
If they have lots of books that are in yale (as most materials are), then you're just confusing them by asking them to use jyutping.
Did you know that I learned with yale, then found out what jyutping was and could use them interchangably almost instantly? They're pretty much the exact same but for a few minor adjustments. We're not trying to re-invent the wheel here
