Assuming that most of us would rather put the old Yale system out to pasture

I'd just like to point out the fact that Yale is still the de-facto standard phonetic system used for most printed Cantonese study materials: dictionaries, textbooks, learner texts.

How many of these study materials are recent? If Yale is persevering, I'll make a more concerted effort to dissuade new students from adopting it.
Looking at what's readily available for beginners:

etc.

All of those were published in 2010-2011 and use Yale. Yes, they've all been around in various versions for a while.

[www.amazon.com] is the updated version of the first link but I have no idea if it uses jyutping. A long time ago, the R Bruce version used Barnett-Chao, so maybe it's updated.

[en.wikipedia.org] is a must for anyone who buys language materials published in GZ.

For serious students, a good grasp of multiple romanization schemes is essential in the long run. There's no way around it.
