Recently, I heard someone say 「我哋去wet」。 When I asked them what it meant, I think they said that it's the same as 去街。
I didn't find it in cantodict and there was no reference to it in the forums or 《廣州話方言詞典》。
It looks like a non-standard word. Is it pronounced with a high level tone, ie wet1, and are there any example sentences of it?
Sorry, I did a search on the forum before posting this thread, but a google search turned up an old thread from 2004 on this subject: http://www.cantonese.sheik.co.uk/phorum/read.php?3,27636
Maybe the moderators need to merge the threads or something?
Anyway, it's interesting because the thread said it's outdated (in 2004), but I head it the other day!
